If you’ve enjoyed a beginner course with me or had previous experience in stained glass and want to challenge yourself, this course offers a guided opportunity to develop your skills further.

Incorporate both copper foiling and traditional stained glass methods to create an arch-topped, U section edged stained glass panel. Get support with a design, or use one of the designs provided, with intermediate learning objectives including:

• How to design a piece with more complex cuts/higher number of pieces

• How to create mitred lead cuts to create a closed frame with U section lead

• How to connect a foiled design to a leaded edge

All materials and use of tools are included. Maximum of ten students. Minimum age to attend is 16.

This is not a beginner course. Please ensure you have some experience before booking. I recommend my Stained Glass Day Course for a first experience of stained glass techniques.

Essential Info

Please wear closed-toed shoes and tie back long hair. Please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty or bring an apron. Due to the use of lead it is recommended that pregnant women do not attend. Use of a soldering flux derived from animal fat is necessary on this course, so regrettably it is not vegan.

The course times are 10am – 4pm. There will be a 45-minute lunch break. Lunch is by your own arrangement, I recommend bringing a packed lunch but there are also shops and cafes locally.

This course takes place at Garth Olwg Lifelong Learning Centre, St Illtyds Road, Church Village, Rhondda Cynon Taff, CF38 1RQ. Please aim to arrive five minutes ahead of the course start time so that we can get the fun started promptly!

On booking you will receive a booking confirmation email, I will have a record of this too and you do not need to bring a copy with you.

Cancellations

If you are unable to attend a course you have booked, please let me know as soon as possible. If you give at least 4 weeks’ notice you are eligible for a full refund or a transfer to an alternative date. If you give between 2 and 4 weeks’ notice you are eligible for a 50% refund or a transfer to an alternative date. If you give less than two weeks’ notice you are not eligible for any refund, but where possible I will endeavour to offer an alternative date if the course you are enable to attend can still viably go ahead without your booking. No refunds or alternative dates can be offered if you don’t contact me before the course is due to take place.
