Intermediate Stained Glass 6-Week Course (Garth Olwg, South Wales)
Intermediate Stained Glass 6-Week Course (Garth Olwg, South Wales)
Suitable for those with some experience, this course offers the opportunity to create leaded stained glass or copper foiled projects with guidance. This is a hands-on course, covering all processes including glass cutting, leading, soldering, cementing and polishing your piece. The main benefit of an extended course is the opportunity to make more than one piece or to work on a larger piece, allowing you to consolidate your skills and get more creative with your designs for lead and glass. You will have the option to explore both traditional techniques and the modern copper foiling process.
Bring your own templates or I can guide you to design them. This course is an opportunity to develop your skills in a relaxed environment. If you’re unsure about what project you’d like to do, I’d be happy to chat with you by email ahead of the first session.
Materials are generally not included in the course fee, but some ancillary materials will be available (flux, tallow, cement, practice glass.) As everyone is working on different projects and different scales, it makes sense for everyone to have the freedom to buy their own materials. Students are eligible for a 10% discount code off glass at Creative Glass Guild.
Maximum of eight students. Minimum age to attend is 16.
Essential Info

Please wear closed-toed shoes and tie back long hair. Please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty or bring an apron. Due to the use of lead it is recommended that pregnant women do not attend. A soldering flux derived from animal fat is necessary on this course, so regrettably it is not vegan.
